Do you need to wake up your muse and invite her to guide you before you can sit down and write?

Do you depend on a muse to come up with topics for posts?

If you do, you may not have what it takes to be a freelance writer. Freelance writers have to write assignments for clients whether the muse is awake or still asleep.

Writers, known to be creative, are not waiting for someone to wake up to tell them what and how to write.

Do you think authors Edgar Allen Poe, Raymond Chandler, Sir Author Conan Doyle, Isaac Asimov, or Ray Bradbury waited around until a muse woke up so they could sit down and write their stories?

As a writer, it’s up to you to sit down and write, not when your muse feels like it.

Writers need to fight through their excuses for not writing. Stop procrastinating and make the blank page their friend, not their enemy.

Writers need to have their research completed, a work space, and eliminate distractions as they make time for writing.

Writers writing is the way it should be, not sitting around until the mood or whatever hits them.

Do you have a story to tell? Do need to write a blog post? Do you need to write some marketing materials?

Then it’s time to sit down and write what you need to.

Most writers know that if they write a page a day, in a year they have a 365 page story, that a novel ready to be edited and published.

Which writer wouldn’t like to turn out at least a novel a year?

If you call yourself a writer, author, or even wordsmith, get busy and write something every day, because that’s what writers do.
